Jusfy Secures $15M in Series A Funding from Thomson Reuters

São Paulo-based legal tech startup Jusfy has secured $15 million in a Series A funding round, according to a company announcement. The round was led by Quona Capital and included participation from Thomson Reuters Ventures, The LegalTech Fund, FJ Labs, SaaSholic, Spectra Investments, Fluent Ventures, Endeavor, and MAYA CAPITAL.

Platform Focus

Jusfy combines business and practice of law features, offering client intake, legal research, case management, and practice management functions. The company has collected a corpus of over 350 million Brazilian legal documents and developed a suite of artificial intelligence agents called JusGPT designed to run the individual modules available on the platform.

Jusfy was founded in 2021 by Rafael Saccol Bagolin, who previously spent more than a decade as an attorney at Brazilian law firm Bagolin e Bastianello. The company grew out of an accounting tool developed for the firm by Bagolin and chief technology officer Juliano Lima, which had been adopted by attorneys at other firms.

Bagolin told Law.com that Brazil has a large number of lawyers that work in small practices without a robust legal tech ecosystem, requiring attorneys to take on a larger administrative burden than they might in other countries. “We estimate that Brazilian lawyers spend more than 50 percent of their time doing things non-related with practicing law—calculations, prospecting customers, searching address, property, this kind of thing.”

Bagolin added that the breadth of services sets Jusfy apart from other legal tech vendors active in the Brazilian market. “I have competitors in every single feature, but in this proposal to become the operating system or one-stop shop, [we are] alone in Brazil,” he said.

The Series A follows an investment of more than $1 million in the company in December 2022 from investors including SaaSholic and Norte Ventures and a second investment of an undisclosed amount in 2025. Jusfy currently employs 86 people, primarily in product and engineering roles, with specialists overseeing each of the platform’s individual features.

Expansion Plans

The company plans to devote the funds from the Series A to developing new financial services offerings for lawyers. Bagolin said this represents an outgrowth of work the platform already does to help attorneys calculate the value of their claims at the outset of cases. Going forward, the company hopes to use this data for purposes including litigation financing, collateralization, and financial modeling.

Jusfy also recently released JusPay, a legal payment offering, and plans to move into litigation financing. The company recently announced plans to expand beyond Brazil, testing JusGPT agents in Mexico, Peru, Colombia, Chile, Argentina, and Uruguay.
